Dua lipa is a English artist and performer born on August 22, 1995 at London United Kingdom. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017, after she been signed by Warner Bros Records. It reached the number three spot at the top of the U.K. albums chart and featured eight singles with the most notable being U.K. top ten hit song New Rules and Be the One I.D.G.A.F. Lipa has won Brit Awards 2018 for the categories of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act. Furthermore, the platinum album has been praised across multiple countries. Dua Lipa was born on 22nd August 1995 in London in the UK to Kosovo Albanian Anesa Rexha, and Dukagjin Lipa. By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian ancestry. Her family tree can be tracked back to Peja, the Kosovo town of Peja. Lipa's two grandfathers both were historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has an older brother called Gjin. Lipa was musically influenced by her father, who was the guitarist and singer in Oda, the Kosovan rock band Oda. In the family, her father would continue to play music including his original compositions as well as songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at the age of five. In just her ninth year she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa was given a recording contract by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. New Love, Lipa's debut single, was released in August 2015.
